“R.O.M.E.O.S. & J.U.L.I.E.T.S” is the name for our active Senior Adult group. It is an acronym for Really Old Men Eating Out Sometimes & Just Us Ladies Intentionally Eating Together Sometimes.
Senior Adults at First Methodist Minden are an active, energetic, fun-loving group who cannot be found in rocking chairs!
They visit, attend and / or experience special attractions, concerts and events in the Shreveport-Bossier area approximately once a month, sometimes during the day and occasionally in the evening — and, as their name implies! — nearly always “eating out” together! The group usually travels together on the new church bus, or sometimes in a caravan of personal vehicles.
Past outings have included: A Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Luncheon at The Logan Mansion in Shreveport; the movie The Last Supper at Tinseltown in Shreveport with a meal at El Chico afterward; a tour of the Norton Art Gallery and Gardens with lunch at Jason’s Deli; a tour of the Bonnie and Clyde Museum in Gibsland, with lunch at Gibsland Grill; a production of Fiddler on the Roof at the Emmett Hook Center in Shreveport; and, more recently, the Dinner & Doo-wop theater production at NSU in Natchitoches.
