Join us at 9:45 each Sunday morning for Bible study, group sharing and support. Our classes are led by competent and compassionate teachers who lead their groups into a deeper walk with Jesus through learning and prayer. Each class selects its own study materials that fit the needs of the members. We are always looking to expand our classes as new members join. Our Discipleship Classes are not “age graded” just find a group and study that meets your needs.
One of our newer classes that is team taught but led by Amy and Mark Miller. They focus on studies that link Biblical materials with the culture of the Holy Land to help apply the Bible to their lives.
As with all of our Discipleship Groups strong and biblically based materials are used and lead by our excellent teachers, Elaine Ward and Mary Ann Hamilton. They open each Sunday session with a hymn and have a good spirit of fellowship and work together on local missions. Their “Ladles of Love” ministry to the home bound is a hallmark of their class.
One of our longest running classes that meets the special needs of our members. It is led by Mary Copeland and studies are focused on individual books of the Bible. This group also serves as a social connection, celebrating birthdays, having special events during the holidays and supporting one another.
This class is adjacent to the “Wesley Room” that serves as the church’s parlor. Laura Evans is a gifted teacher of this group, and she leads “deep dives” into Bibles studies and doctrinal studies on things like “The Apostles Creed”. Mrs. Evans brings years of teaching and a scholarship making her lessons easy to understand.
This class is located closest to the hallway entrance to the Sanctuary but is worth the walk. Team taught by Jennifer Thomas and Pat Woodard, this class is a mixture of ages and life stages. They have survived the changes in our church and are always welcoming of new members to grow and learn as they study the Bible.
“Wednesday Night Live” is and exciting and joyful time starting at 5:30 pm with a delicious meal cooked by our kitchen staff and served with a room full of children, youth and adults. At 6:00 we move into our various groups and programs. Adults can pick between:
Lead by Jennifer Thomas and meeting on Wednesday night at 6:00. Mrs. Thomas not only leads the Wednesday night group but offers the same courses on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 at “The Broken Bean” and on Thursday mornings at 10:00. She is a well known leader of women’s ministries and a gifted teacher. She is assisted by Carol Maxie on Thursdays. Click here for a link to her schedule of classes and locations.
This is another group that gathers to study in a less formal setting and share their joys and concerns. They meet either in the “Wesley Room” or in the Chapel. If you are looking to connect with other Minden ladies in a less formal, sharing style, this is your group. Amy McGill is their leader and she and the other women will certainly include you.
Pastor Steve meets with his group in the “Discovery” Bible study room in the main Education Hallway. They have seasonal studies that run continuously from August until May. They use some of the material from the Global Methodist publishing house located at Asbury Seminary, called “Seedbed” and various other materials from strongly Bible based writers and presenters. Our group has a wide range of ages and life stages, you are welcome to join us.
