Older Adults

Rev. Linda Shepherd, our Associate Pastor, leads our ministries for older adults.  In addition to teaching the Gold Star Sunday School Class, she serves in many other areas of ministry:

"Fifty Plus"

Each Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., our older adults gather for a morning of activities.  Starting with songs and a devotional, they play many board and card games for some great time of fellowship and visiting.  Then they all share in a wonderful (usually homecooked) lunch.  Occasionally they venture out in the church bus for dining in one of our area's wonderful local restaurants.

Day Trips and Dining

Day trips to area places of interest and attractions are scheduled often.  These trips usually include eating out.  Occasionally, over-night trips are planned.

Nursing Home and Homebound Visits

We strive to serve our congregation members who are unable to travel to church.  Visits are made, and Communion is served monthly.  We also are happy to care for non-members when requested.

Ecumenical Bible Study

Rev. Linda leads a weekly Bible study for people of all Christian faiths in Sibley, LA.

Worship at Meadowview Nursing Home

Rev. Linda coordinates weekly worship at Meadowview Nursing Home every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.  The service includes lively singing, a brief devotional, and prayer.
